Outskirts by Todd Hido

First Edition, First Printing, 2002

Signed by Todd Hido

FINE Condition

This is a signed first edition, first printing of Todd Hido’s “Outskirts” published by Nazraeli Press, Tucson in 2002 in a limited edition of 2000. “Outskirts” continues to mine the rich vein that Hido began to unearth in “House Hunting”. His large-format color photographs of suburbia are made almost exclusively at night, transforming familiar landscapes into eerie, mysterious spaces. Outskirts opens with an introduction by writer Luc Sante and was designed as a companion volume to his critically acclaimed first monograph “House Hunting”. Of Hido's nightscapes, Mary Hull Webster of Artweek, had the following to say, "Photography is arguably the most accomplished art form of the moment, and one of its most intelligent practitioners is Todd Hido."

Containing 26 spectacular 4 color plates, the book is a hardcover in a photographically illustrated dust jacket and measures approximately 14” x 17”. Both the book and dust jacket are in FINE condition.

The book is boldly signed on the first free endpaper by Todd Hido. His work is held in a large number of collections, both public and private, including The Art Institute of Chicago, The Guggenheim Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Photographs of the book and signature appear in the photo section of the listing.
