Binding Details:  Beautifully rebound by Derek Woolf, Solihull, England in three-quarter dark blue Nigerian calf leather over marble covered boards with raised bands to the spine with gilt lettering.

Book Details:  This is the stated first edition, first printing of Hersey’s hugely underrated novel of WWII that gradually won greater acceptance as an anti-war statement.

Basis for the 1962 film by Philip Leacock starring Steve McQueen and Robert Wagner which takes place at an American bomber base in England prior to D-Day.

The book measures approximately 8.5” x 6”, 404 pages.

Condition Report: The binding is in FINE condition with very minimal surface wear. The slipcase is in FINE condition. Internally complete and clean with minimal age tanning.
