Book Details:  This is a stated first printing of a special presentation copy hand numbered “248” that was presented to booksellers in the U.S. when the book was released. Shaw’s critically acclaimed novel explores the lives of 3 ordinary soldiers (2 American and 1 German) during the course of World War II. Along with The Naked and Dead and From Here to Eternity, it is considered one of the greatest war novels ever written.

The basis for the 1958 movie by Edward Dmytryk starring Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, Dean Martin, and Hope Lange.

The book measures approximately 8.5” x 6”, 689 pages.
